合理施肥 紫薇在生长过程中如果缺肥，容易导致枝条细弱，叶色发黄，整个植株生长势减弱，容易滋生病虫害。应在春季萌芽前和秋季落叶后挖条沟或环施腐熟的基肥，施肥后及时浇水。生长期，特别是开花之前追施氮磷钾复合肥。少施氮肥，多施磷钾肥，可促进植株多开花，花大而且健壮。修剪残花后及时补充磷钾肥。
定期浇水 紫薇开花时正是夏秋高温季节，日照长、光照强、水分蒸发快，需要及时补充水分以满足其正常生长需要。一般夏季根据天气情况每3天至7天浇水一次，每次浇水要透。土壤表土干燥后及时松土，既能减少水分蒸发，又能避免树盘内滋生杂草。早春土壤化冻后及时浇返青水。
及时观察防治病虫害 紫薇易生病虫害主要有白粉病和绒蚧。应根据每种病虫害的发生规律，在即将发生时期，及时观察，发现后及时防治，将病虫对植株的危害降到最低。
